'The Masked Singer' Season 9 reveals: Here's who has been unmasked so far on the show and we'll even let you know the winner of the season, too!
Spoiler alert: This article contains spoilers for Season 9 of The Masked Singer.
Season 9 of The Masked Singer kicked off on Feb. 15, 2023, and with it came new masks. As creative and over-the-top as the costumes are, the identities of the celebrities underneath will remain a mystery until they're eliminated and unmasked.
We kept a running list of all the reveals, all season. Now, the finale is over and we have a winner. Let's take a look back at the Season 9 competitors.
The Gnome — Dick Van Dyke
The Gnome was revealed to be none other than 97-year-old Dick Van Dyke, who is best known for his role in the musical Mary Poppins.
He was the first contestant eliminated in Season 9 of The Masked Singer.
The Mustang — Sara Evans
Mustang slayed Rihanna's "Diamonds" in the Battle Royale, but it wasn't enough to save her.
Ultimately, she was unmasked and was revealed to be country singer Sara Evans. "I love the show and I don't think there's enough country artists represented," Sara said of her decision to come on the show. "I have three children and we're going to watch it together."
Rock Lobster — Howie Mandel
The Rock Lobster was comedian and TV personality Howie Mandel, who sadly didn't make it past ABBA night.
"The one issue I had wearing the lobster suit was it was hard to see where I was going. I didn't have a real sense of direction. At any given moment, I had no idea where I was."
Night Owl — Debbie Gibson
Only Jenny McCarthy was able to correctly identify the Night Owl as '80s pop icon Debbie Gibson, thanks to her connection to Jenny's husband Donnie Wahlberg, another pop icon.
The Polar Bear — Grandmaster Flash
Nicole Scherzinger was the only judge to correctly guess the identity of the Polar Bear when she named hip-hop legend Grandmaster Flash. "In the world today there is a lot of sadness, and when I see this show ... it has me laughing. It's a great show," he said after being unmasked.
The Wolf — Michael Bolton
Three of the four judges were right when it came to the Wolf's identity, which was revealed to be the "How Am I Supposed to Live Without You? singer. Michael Bolton was unmasked on the March 8 episode, and he also revealed he had a new album coming out in the spring.
Squirrel — Malin Akerman
Rock of Ages star Malin Akerman was revealed to be the Squirrel — and her Couples Retreat co-star Ken Jeong was completely surprised!
"I was just so excited to get to do this and watch it with my son," Malin said of the experience. "And my dad is here from Sweden ... it's so fun. Everyone dreams of being a rock star and it's an honor to be here."
Jackalope — Lele Pons
After singing her idol Shakira's song "Whenever, Wherever," Latina singer Lele Pons was revealed to be the Jackalope! She lost the Battle Royale against Fairy, but the judges were impressed by her singing chops nonetheless!
Axolotl – Alexa Bliss
When it came to Axolotl, WWE star Alexa Bliss was named the undercover singer. Fun fact: Alexa is married to pop star Ryan Cabrera.
"I was very winded during the performance, which was really surprising because I wrestle for a living, and so it was so surprising how your body uses different things for different actions," Alexa said in an interview with TV Insider. "I learned that I cannot sing and dance at the same time without getting winded, and I need to start working on that."
The Fairy — Holly Robinson Peete
The Fairy was revealed to be actor and TV personality Holly Robinson Peete. Viewers learned some fun facts about Holly including that she sang the 21 Jump Street theme song and that her father was the original Gordon on Sesame Street.
Moose — George Wendt
The Moose has been revealed! He is George Wendt — the Emmy-nominated actor and comedian! You might recognize him from his role as Norm Peterson on Cheers.
Scorpio — Christine Quinn
Scorpio is Christine Quinn who is the star of Selling Sunset. “I’ve always loved the show and girls just want to have fun!" Christine said in her unmasked interview. "I call myself a closet singer. So the fact that I’m here singing in front of people just goes to show that anything is possible if you put your mind to it and practice.”
Doll — Dee Snider
Doll is Dee Snider — the lead singer of Twisted Sister! Fun fact: Dee was actually asked to appear on Season 1 of the show, but he declined the offer. Fast forward to Season 8 and he impressed us all!
Dandelion — Alicia Witt
Dandelion is actor Alicia Witt! Ken Jeong was the only judge to guess Dandelion's identity correctly, so he was obviously super excited to see that he was correct.
Lamp — Melissa Joan Hart
Lamp is actor Melissa Joan Hart. We should have seen that coming with the witch cauldron clue! You might recognize her from her role on Sabrina the Teenage Witch back in the day.
Mantis — Lou Diamond Phillips
Mantis is actually Golden Globe-nominated actor Lou Diamond Phillips! We can never forget how he perfectly embodied Ritchie Valens in La Bamba.
Gargoyle — Keenan Allen
Gargoyle is wide receiver Keenan Allen who was drafted by the Los Angeles Chargers in 2013. He's no stranger to performing. He's just usually on a football field and not a stage.
UFO — Olivia Culpo
UFO turned out to be model and actress Olivia Culpo. She was literally Miss Universe, so her whole extraterrestrial theme makes total sense now. Plus, she's one of three in The Culpo Sisters.
California Roll — Pentatonix
California Roll is actually the acapella group Pentatonix! They're known for their spectacular live performances and strong online presence.
Macaw — David Archuleta
Macaw turned out to be former American Idol star, David Archuleta. The singer is having a bad streak because he lost both this show and that one. However, he did come in runner-up.
Medusa — Bishop Briggs
Medusa is actually singer-songwriter Bishop Briggs! This British-American star actually ended up winning it all on the show. We have more details on that, too.
Medusa won 'The Masked Singer' Season 9!
Making it to the end of the show's season isn't easy, but the last episode came down to Medusa and Macaw. While both of these performers were absolutely daring and lovely, only one could actually win. In the end, the judges decided that the winning title belonged to Medusa!
