If you have not watched Season 2 ofYou yet, spoilers are definitely ahead. In Season 2 we've Joe (Penn Badgley) leaving New York and all the ones pesky murders at the back of him. His goal is to start fresh in Los Angeles — he's were given a new name (Will), a new task at a e-book store, and clearly a brand new love interest, literally named Love (Victoria Pedretti). But just because Joe has an entire new life doesn't suggest he is a whole new particular person. Obviously Season 2 has Joe become murder-y again, but no less than we be informed why he is the way he is: His mom.

Season 2 in the end dives into Joe's childhood, which is vital, since maximum serial killers usually come from tousled households. We knew Joe spent his teen years as an apprentice under Mr. Mooney, who principally took him in. While Mooney taught Joe the artistry of holding books (or no matter it is you wish to have to know whilst you run a e-book retailer), he was once also merciless to him. Basically, we knew Joe didn't have a jolly childhood, however we didn't know the level of ways unhealthy it in reality used to be.

What's the tale about Joe's mom?

In the penultimate episode, "P.I. Joe," we discover that Joe's mother, Sandy (Magda Apanowicz) was in a relationship with a person who abused her — significantly. Whether or not the person is Joe's organic father is still kind of a thriller. But regardless, this man had to cross. And 9-year-old Joe idea so too. Joe grabs a gun he is aware of is stashed away in the closet, and kills his mom's boyfriend/possibly his dad.

Sandy to start with tells Joe that he shouldn't have shot him, but then says, "You were protecting me. It had to done. You're a good boy, Joey. You would never hurt anyone. And that's the truth. Never. Much less kill someone. You're a good boy. It was just an accident." Sound acquainted? That's as a result of a version of that's the same roughly language Joe makes use of himself when he "has" to kill someone. He's a good individual! He simply HAD to kill any person as it had to be carried out! He's simply protecting the folks he loves!

But the place did Joe's mother pass?

In the season finale, "Love, Actually," Sandy tells Joe that he wishes a "real father." And by means of that, it appears she way Child Protective Services. Sandy tells Joe that he is at an advantage without her for awhile, since she's in no condition to be a mom. She reminds him of what happened (that Joe murdered Sandy's boyfriend/his father), and argues that this fashion is "better." And then Joe is taken away to the Irving Group For Boys, aka, an orphanage.

And that's it — we do not see Sandy again. She either disappeared totally, most likely to break out the crime and the terrible state of affairs. Maybe New York brought up too many bad reminiscences, which integrated her personal son. Or perhaps she went to jail. You does make certain viewers see Sandy put her fingers on the gun, the homicide weapon, which clearly the police are going to examine. (However, I'd think it will be simple to declare self-defense, given how badly harm Sandy is.)

Hopefully Sandy's destiny is unraveled in Season 3 (which is possibly going down — arms crossed!). It can be nice if Joe's future kid had a grandma... proper?
