Rapper Doja Cat rose to fame rapidly with her success originating on TikTok. Soon after, she began to become a more eccentric figure and her latest music even received backlash for allegedly being Satanic in nature.
The musician's own religion is something deeply personal, but people want to know what sort of influences it might have had on her decision to stray into a more controversial aesthetic. After all, she quite literally dressed up like the devil for one music video.

Doja offers information about her personal life in drips and drabs. From what we do know, she was born to an Ashkenazi Jewish mother and she identified as Jewish.
However, Doja's exploration of faith stems far beyond just one religion. As a child, she spent a few years living in an ashram where she practiced and learned about Hinduism.

While she has leaned into a darker aesthetic, Doja has never labeled herself as a Satanist. Instead, some fans and haters alike began to express concern about how she uses religion in her music.
As for why the twist occurred, it wasn't necessarily because she decided it was time to praise Lucifer. Instead, Doja argued that her newer sound is who she has always been underneath.
Before releasing her latest album, Scarlet, Doja claimed that she was only in it for the money before. “Planet Her and Hot Pink were cash-grabs and y'all fell for it,” Doja wrote online. “Now I can go disappear somewhere and touch grass with my loved ones on an island while y'all weep for mediocre pop.”

Fans quickly get tired of celebrities if they don't uphold certain standards and Doja started failing them in so many different directions. Right away, the cash grab comment ignited the internet as fans felt totally mocked.
Things only got worse when she attacked them for their fandom name and pretty much told them she didn't like them at all. Her fans call themselves Kittenz and when Doja saw that, she dissed it.
“If you call yourself a ‘Kitten’ or f--king ‘Kittenz’ that means you need to get off your phone and get a job and help your parents with the house,” she wrote on Twitter.
Plus, fans were quick to point out that the rapper actually helped name them. Doja herself put out a poll of options for her fans to choose from with Kittenz winning the vote. She dropped about 200,000 followers after her abrasive comments.
In addition to her disregard for her fans, Doja came under fire for appearing to support a neo-Nazi sympathizer. She wrote a t-shirt with a photo of Sam Hyde on it.
Not only is Sam a vocal supporter of Donald Trump and the alt-right movement, but he also donated $5,000 when Andrew Anglin, the founder of neo-Nazi website The Daily Stormer, was sued "troll hurricane."
Doja eventually took down the post and claimed she didn't know better, but not before fans were angry in her comments. One commented, "What's your obsession with appealing to incels?"
